Nude portrait of the Archangel Michael. I enjoyed painting this piece very much. I also tried to go with a more traditional color scheme for angels (white wings, gold, brown and RED).

The Genderless Angel(s).
Angels, like everything else in the world that is religious/spiritual, is UP to everyone's interpretation, as well as subject to local beliefs. For example in Orthodox church, angels don't have any bodies at all. Only heads with six wings. So, whether angels have genders or not, is up to what *YOU* want them to have. *I* want them to have genders. In MY world they have genders.

That said, if the subject is not to your liking, or you aren't comfortable with it, it has a mature content warning, please head it. If it doesn't bother you, then please accept that in MY Universe, Angels as everything else have male and female reproductive organs.

Besides, it is clearly stated that the character is copyrighted to Chantel Lysette. This is NOT my personal interpretation of the Archangel Michael, but even if it were, my interpretation would also have all the necessary equipment.

Let me start by saying when I opened the deviation, I was absoulutely not expecting ANYTHING like this. You've shocked me by taking a whole different meaning on a painting of an Archangel. Wait- you painted this? Are you Michealangelo's long lost cousin or something? Lol. But seriously, this is a great piece of artwork you've made and you're painting is just superb! I hope you will continue to make excellent works like this. One thing I must note is the color scene. It is amazing. The details on the anatomy is so realistic as well. Please continue your great works.

First of all, God forgive me, but he is sexy!

Just had to say that

And second, I'm pretty amazed

This NOT how I expected to Micheal to be and he's something different than what I imagined

And how you portrayed him is just beautiful in so many ways

You've captured both his grace and beauty along with his elegance

IThis is truely something

And your painting skills are just maginificient

Really, I've never--ok, I have--such vivid and bright colors before

They really suite the picture entirely and make it even more beautiful

And your concept of angels is something interesting too

I as well also believe they have gender and that's something I think what molds their beauty and appearance

Just my opinion

Anyways, this is just lovely

You did a beyond amazing job and I love it

Thank you for capturing his grace and painting this

They do say they're genderless. But with so much power you'd think that's the perfect representation of the male energies. That they would mostly be male! And all that power is sexy
