Chronicles of Elantra relative-speed painting. This is a portrait of Lord Kaylin, and Lord Nightshade. Though the dragons are my favorite characters in this series, and I kinda hope Kaylin will get together with a Dragon; Lord Nightshade is a close second on my list of Favorites.
I love this, I love you! It drives me crazy that all the cover art for the series NEVER has Kaylin's tattoo! Nightshade is damn nice too, which is a considerable challenge since the Barrani are described as having long, dark hair and being perfect or near perfect. Well, that's a totally different image for every person then. But you have depicted him in a way that doesn't make me want to pick it apart and grump, which is a first! And his hair looks very soft too, sigh.
the guy in the back looks like laguna, it's probably the brown hair and blue shirt.
anyway for a speed paint this is awesome, doesn't look like it was rushed [speed paint = fast drawing]. they look content here, gives a peaceful feeling.
Oooh, sorry! I seem to have mislabeled it then. By "Speed painting" I understand something that I finished fast. I finished this in 4 hours, so I cataloged it as a speed painting. But if you say that Speed painting is something that looks rushed, than it's definitely mislabeled.
I am glad you like it though. Lol. Sorry about the Laguna resemblance. It wasn't intentional, but you are right, the color schemes do hint in that direction.
sorry, i really meant for a speed painting it is very well done, way better then i could ever do.
but i think that is a given i've only recently trying to get out of my 5 year artist's block.
but i've seen speed paintings that i think O_O that is a speed paint?! mainly because if i did a speed paint it would look bad, think the idea varies from artist to artist.
most of my art i can spend days on a single pic. but i'm the one that should be sorry, i didn't clarify what i meant.
I love what you did with Kaylin's tattoos. I can easily imagine it all over. Not quite how I would imagine the nightshade symbol on her, but everything else is amazing.
