Sadly, Uni prevented me from finishing this piece sooner, but it is now, finally, fully skinned/rigged and posed. （ｖ＾＿＾）
I made him left-handed, but this is not canon. Or at least, whether the High Lord is a Lefty or Righty was never mentioned in the books. Since I always imagined him left-handed for some reason, I also painted him thus in this piece: fav.me/d9m1530
Irony is, that now I learned new techniques at uni that would have enabled me to make this character model much nicer would I have known them back during the summer break when i was working on this piece. Sadly, there’s no way I’ll redo it all. No time, no time. ヽ( ￣д￣; )ノ
Ah well. The new skills will come in handy for Lord Diarmat! Who is, of course, next on my list.(｀∀´)Ψ
Software used: 3ds Max, ZBrush, Quixel Suite, Photoshop, and Marmoset Toolbag.

i love how smooth the hair is, and how chrome colored the armor is. well done!
THIS IS AMAZING!!! Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much detail! I know someone who made sculptures of his characters in a CAD program, had them 3D printed, and then painted them...it took him FOREVER, but the results were stunning.
(you adjusted the eyes from before. He doesn't look as "I-just-got-electrocuted")
This is gorgeous! Once again I am super impressed with the armour Q___Q So lovely!
The pose and build/anatomy is wonderful too, asjhfksf I love everything you do!
I already envied Barrani hair while reading the books, and now your art gives me more reasons to do so...
Which program did you use? ouo I'm still trying to get me to 3D, but it's hard...
As for the programs used; darn. I forgot to post it. I used 3ds Max for the modelling, Zbrush for the sculpting, Quixel Suite and Photoshop for texturing and Marmoset Toolbag for the final beauty shots.
I felt the same way as you did 3 years ago. 3D art seemed like a huge mountain to overcome, but it's deceptive. It's not easy, but it's easier than it looks, so don't give up. Now I love 3D more than 2D. Good luck!
